Architectural Integrity
Nestled in the hills overlooking Zurich, The Monolith Residence stands as a bold statement of structural honesty. Built primarily from raw cast concrete and tactile travertine, the home is a sanctuary that merges seamlessly with its woodland surroundings, offering dramatic views through full-height minimalist glazing.
The layout is organized around a central double-height atrium, which acts as a lightwell bringing soft alpine illumination deep into the living spaces. Private quarters are elevated on the upper concrete volume, which cantilevers out toward the lake, creating a suspended feeling of weightlessness.
